Purpose of the RoleThis position will be responsible for maintaining the product line P&L, ensuring the product financials are in line with the product line strategy, business case for new product development, product line financials, performance Improvement, risk assessment, cost data management, budgeting, MIS and other controllership functions
In order to facilitate the delivery of sustainable value creation within company guidelines and policies.Job Responsibility1. Contribution to planning:
New product development
Prepare Financials / Business cases for New projects at all DR gateway reviews, PCR and PRC
Sensitivity analysis and building different scenarios for decision making for NPD of the product line
Assess risks from a financial standpoint whilst evaluating new product programs. Question underperforming projects and provide insights on key risks agreed and devise mitigation plan
Business Planning and Budgeting for Product lines
Lead overall financial projections modeling (including validation of business assumptions) in co-ordination with the BU
Finance roles (Purchase controller, Engineering finance, Credit and Commercial controller, IB Finance and Plant finance) and translate overall strategic plan into financial measures - for the product line
Analyze cost benefit for aiding management decision making on make / buy - eg. SDE Vs Crail Engine, TA65* Vs C5492. Key actions and decisions (Long term and Short term):
MIS
Prepare periodic MIS reports and highlight risks and variances in the same
Analyze areas of future risks for the product line and pre- alert management
Establish early alerts for Design & Development spend exceeding budgets and lead implementation action to correct financials e.g. contribution improvements, working capital reduction, balance sheet management, spend reductionControlling:
Review the adequacy of financial controls in critical functions such as commercial, purchasing, engineering, IB, etc.
Assess potential risks to the BU both from a Financial, Operational and Control standpoint and develop adequate mitigation for the sameCost Management:
Architect and manage the entire costing system for the product linePerformance Management:
Ensure adherence to periodic business plan (sales, production) and suggest mitigation measures for reducing cost in case of non-adherenceStakeholder Profiles & Nature of InteractionsInternal:Product line HeadOverall financial projections modeling for product lineDevelop business cases for new products and provide insights on key risks agreedAssess risks from a financial standpoint whilst evaluating new product programs and question underperforming projectsTrack budget and spend for the new product development processManage the entire costing system for the product lineHead Credit and Commercial Controller, Head Bu Engineering finance, Head Purchase controller, IB FinanceCreation of product line P&L - revenues, costs, etc.MIS, dashboard creationDesired Candidate Profile
  • Education: CA/ICWA/MBA
  • Relevant Experience : 10 to 12 Yrs
