Role ProfileJob TitleDeputy Site LeaderLocationPuneReports toSite Head, FNZ India.Role Description:Role Context:FNZ is expanding its India footprint with Pune as a strategic growth site supporting global platform engineering, delivery and operations. As we scale engineering capability and deepen global integration, we are seeking a Deputy Site Leader – Pune to help build a world-class delivery and engineering center.This is not a site administration role.This is a technology-led, delivery-owning leadership role responsible for operational excellence, engineering quality, and stakeholder confidence across global markets.You will act as the operational anchor for the Pune site — ensuring that engineering teams are high-performing, delivery commitments are met, and the culture reflects excellence, ownership and pace.Role Purpose:To lead delivery and operations for the Pune site, build high-performance engineering teams, and establish Pune as a flagship FNZ engineering and operations hub globally.Specific Role Responsibilities:Site Delivery & Operational Leadership:
  • Own delivery performance across engineering and operational teams in Pune.
  • Ensure predictable execution, quality, and SLA adherence.
  • Drive delivery governance, capacity planning and performance metrics.
  • Act as escalation point for site-level delivery issues.
  • Partner closely with global engineering and product leaders to ensure alignment.
Engineering Excellence & Team Building:
  • Build and scale high-performing engineering teams.
  • Attract and develop strong technical leaders and senior engineers.
  • Foster engineering culture centered on ownership, accountability and quality.
  • Establish strong code quality, architecture discipline and DevOps practices.
  • Coach leaders to operate in fast-paced, demanding environments.
Scaled Agile & Execution Discipline:
  • Drive effective scaled Agile delivery models.
  • Ensure sprint predictability, backlog hygiene and release governance.
  • Improve delivery velocity without compromising quality.
  • Strengthen cross-team dependency management in complex platform environments.
  • Introduce measurable engineering KPIs (velocity, defect density, cycle time, reliability).
Global Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Work closely with global leadership teams.
  • Operate confidently in global governance forums.
  • Translate stakeholder expectations into structured delivery plans.
  • Provide clear, fact-based communication and reporting.
  • Build strong trust with global counterparts.
Culture & Performance Environment:
  • Build a performance-driven, high-energy site culture.
  • Set expectations for accountability and outcomes.
  • Create leadership depth within the Pune center.
  • Reinforce FNZ values while adapting to a fast-scaling India context.
Candidate Profile:Experience:
  • 15+ years of experience in technology and engineering leadership.
  • Strong hands-on foundation as a developer in early career.
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading large engineering teams.
  • Experience in scaled Agile environments (SAFe, LeSS, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with UK and/or US stakeholders in global setups.
  • Prior exposure to GCC environments or product companies preferred.
  • Experience operating in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.
