Company:Qualcomm India Private Limited## Job Area:Engineering Services Group, Engineering Services Group > Program ManagementGeneral Summary:The Functional Safety Program Manager (FuSa PM) drives the functional safety plan of record (POR) across Qualcomm Automotive programs, aligning cross-functional teams to deliver safety work products, customer-facing collateral, and audit readiness on schedule and with clear risk ownership.You will partner closely with Functional Safety and Cybersecurity engineering, chipset program management, SoC and IP design, verification and validation, configuration management, technical communications, and legal to ensure customers have the right safety evidence at the right time.This role supports ADAS, IVI, and Flex automotive products (scope depends on experience, business need, and program load).Success in the first 6–12 months
- Publish and maintain a program-level FuSa POR (schedule, resourcing, deliverables, and dependencies) that is adopted by cross-functional stakeholders.
- Provide milestone readiness and drive FuSa sign-off at key checkpoints (e.g., xLDR, VCRR, ES, CS) with documented gaps and closure plans.
- Establish a customer-collateral POR and deliver safety work products (e.g., safety manual, safety analysis report, safety case) through internal review and external release on committed dates.
- Execute audit/assessment plans and support closure of nonconformances on time (tracked in JIRA) with clear owners and evidence.
- Run a live program risk cadence (top risks, mitigations, and blockers) and remove bottlenecks to keep safety POR execution on track.
- Partner with chipset program management, product management, and FuSa engineering leads to estimate and allocate FuSa resources across programs.
- Drive milestone readiness and coordinate FuSa sign-off for key checkpoints (xLDR, VCRR, ES, CS), including action tracking to closure.
- Own planning for customer-facing safety collateral (e.g., safety manual, safety analysis report, safety case) and communicate the collateral POR internally and externally.
- Coordinate internal reviews and release processes for safety work products, and manage controlled access for customers and external assessors/consultants.
- Plan and support execution of FuSa audits and assessments, and drive nonconformance closure in JIRA with evidence-based tracking.
- Run periodic FuSa program reviews with senior leadership, including status, key decisions, and escalations.
- Own program-level FuSa risk management (identification, mitigation plans, and blocker removal) and monitor execution against the safety POR.
- Manage FuSa budget planning and spend tracking, including vendor and assessment costs where applicable.
- Support rollout of FuSa process improvements and operating cadence (metrics, reporting, templates) to scale execution across programs.
- Expand scope over time to support similar program management needs for software functional safety and cybersecurity.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of program management (or related) experience driving cross-functional execution.
- Experience building and operating a plan of record (POR) across schedule, resourcing, deliverables, and risk.
- Working knowledge of automotive safety development and evidence delivery, and ability to collaborate with highly technical teams.
- Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- PMP (or similar) certification.
- 10+ years of program management (or related) experience.
- Experience influencing senior leadership (Director level and above) through crisp status, tradeoffs, and decision framing.
- Experience operating effectively in a large, matrixed organization.
- Experience with program management tools and reporting (dashboards, Gantt, issue/risk tracking).
- Familiarity with ISO 26262, ISO 21434, and ISO 9001 (standards, typical work products, and audit expectations).
- Strong understanding of SoC development processes and milestone frameworks.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of Program Management or related work experience.
