- Install, configure, and perform day-to-day operations and administration of IT security solutions (such as IAM, MDM, EDR, and DLP) on Mercari India endpoints and network environments.
- Review and advise on endpoint and corporate network configurations to identify deviations from Mercari security standards.
- Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the endpoint and corporate network environments, and enforce the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Engineering Team to design and implement a stable, secure, and optimized IT environment for Mercari India.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
- Provide subject matter expertise in the development of security policies and guidelines for Mercari India.
- Collaborate with the Mercari Japan IT and Security teams to drive fundamental improvements in IT security operations and implement best practices through engineering-led solutions.
- Collaborate with the Mercari Japan Security team to investigate incidents that occur in Mercari India and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in cybersecurity or IT security-related fields.
- Strong understanding of core computer security concepts (e.g., the CIA triad, principle of least privilege, authentication vs. authorization).
- Hands-on experience in building, administering, and improving IT security tools and solutions (IAM, MDM, EDR, DLP, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently.
- Solid understanding of Zero Trust architecture principles and their practical application.
- Experience configuring and managing public cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, Google Workspace, AWS, Azure).
- In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure: TCP/IP, networking, servers, authentication, directory services, and endpoint management.
- Experience or motivation to automate routine tasks using scripting or engineering approaches.
- Familiarity with security and privacy compliance standards such as PCI-DSS, ISO/IEC 27001, and GDPR.
- Ability to clearly communicate security risks and mitigation strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Conversational Japanese proficiency is a plus.
