About BCUTo strengthen the controls in the front line, the bank has established the Branch Control Unit which will drive unified charter of Controls, Risks and Compliance in the branch network. The new structure will strengthen first line accountability for control failures, drive the control agenda across an integrated framework of erstwhile BBOG, SQ & ROM units.The role would drive significant impact in improving in BOHI scores, Branch Audits, Fraud Outcomes and ensure integration of learning across the Bank, with empowerment to ensure proactive steps are taken towards remediation.
Aboutthe Role
The Regional Head – BCU is responsible to drive & strengthen the Operational matrix / performance of the branches through continuous dialogue backed by data/analytics derived from operational, risk, compliance & audit observations. Regional Head – BCU will anchor all the corporate initiatives in Risk & Compliance culture and monitor the controls and take corrective and preventive actions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible to drive branches achieving BOHI Target in the Circle.
  • Internal Audit - No of Branches Audit Rating - Satisfactory in all the mapped regions, % of Branches in Region rated as Satisfactory in Internal Audit.
  • Review and take corrective actions to deviations in general management guidelines at branches. Including but not limited to: a) Cash & Cash Processes b) Gold Loan business c) Lockers d) Day end report checking and voucher management. e) CRL limits management f) Statutory notices e) Office account f) safety security arrangement & outsourcing g) Aadhar Center Management etc.
  • Proactive fraud mitigation and early fraud detection and response for overall reduction in frauds.
  • System & Procedure Visits – %age coverage in a quarter in the region (Including review of check list for all products interfacing with the branch).
  • Review and ensure closure of Edd and s (COSMOS+AML)- No. of triggers responded within TAT (COSMOS - 5 Days, SLFV & EDD - 5 Days).
  • TAT will have to be same for SLFV & EDD for Circle, Regional & BCU Head (days). Completion/pendency of daily operational activities like dispatch of AOF/Profile update forms, voucher movement, i-BAS adoption, Saksham Usage, Updation of eRegisters etc.
  • Responsible for execution of BCU deliverables and providing support and monthly Red flagging all critical issues (Audit/LOC visits etc.) to Circle Heads for all operational & control matters.
  • Monitoring & Review of closure of all LOC reports of cluster heads / Audit reports and BBOG observations/ certification by branch.
  • Compliance to RBI Incognito Visits.
  • Drive completion of monthly – BLSC and Ombudsman representation ensure Identification of thematic improvement in customer journeys.
  • Identify Branch Resource who need training on operations and control and take corrective action for their job skill matching.
QualificationsOptimal qualification for success on the job is:
  • Post Graduation from a recognized institute.
  • He or She should be a seasoned banker with core banking experience of 15-18 years.

  • Proficiency in managing large teams with guiding them on key issues and challenges.
  • He or she should also have deep understating of how the business works.
  • Understanding of core CBS software which will help in resolving the queries raised by the team members and business users.
