Job descriptionJD FOR Staff Nurse :-Patient Care and Assessment:
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
  • Monitor and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration rate).
  • Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring correct dosages and routes of administration.
  • Provide wound care, IV therapy, and other clinical interventions as required.
  • Observe and document changes in patient condition, reporting significant findings to the healthcare team.
Patient Support:
  • Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and preventive healthcare.
  • Offer support during diagnostic tests, treatments, and procedures.
Care Planning and Implementation:
  • Develop, implement, and regularly evaluate individualized patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to plan patient care.
  • Assist in managing patient flow, including preparing patients for discharge or transfer.
Infection Control and Safety:
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and standards.
  • Ensure patient safety by following proper procedures, including fall prevention, medication administration safety, and infection prevention.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate staff.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Document all assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete, clear, and legible.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare teams, including doctors, specialists, and other nurses, to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, patient care discussions, and team meetings.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to junior nurses and nursing assistants.
