Assistant Vice President Engineer Position Overview Job Title: Engineering Location: Pune Corporate Title: AVP Role Description The Senior Engineer designs and implements technical solutions and configures applications in different environments in response to business problems. With the partial/ full ownership of Production platforms, Senior Engineer is required to ensure environment stability, expeditious and timely resolution of Production issues, ensuring minimal downtimes and continuity of services. Further the Senior Engineer investigates, proposes and implements various solutions, standardizing where possible, to ensures stability and reliability of the application platforms. The person performing the role may lead delivery of other members of the team and controls their work where applicable. Unit test automation of new and existing functionality for maximum code coverage. Document business and functional requirements, design decisions and API Co-working with QA team on test automation of new and existing functionality Contribute to the definition of the future state of the system architecture. Contribute to third party product customization. Able to manage a small team to mentor them for development and delivery Your skill and Experience Extensive demonstrated hands on experience using Extensive demonstrated hands on experience using Java, Spring Boot, Spring JPA and Java Stream application programming interface (API) and experience in designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications and database experience (SQL Server and/or Oracle) 8 to 15 years of proven experience with Java and focus on mult-threading, collections, concurrency & optimization 8 to 15 years of proven experience in Angular or React User Interface (UI) technologies Hands-on knowledge of Spring Core, MVC, JPA, Security and transaction Extensive HTML, CSS, Web Service (REST), JUnit (or Selenium) experience Practical experience with Build Tools (preferably Maven), Source Code Control (preferably Git), Continuous Integration (Hudson, Jenkins or TeamCity) and Cloud/ Docker based application deployment. Kafka, Spark, Elastic and Kibana working expertise. Professional GWT/GXT, Angular/React experience. TDD experience. Data modeling experience. Digitization experience: OCR, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence & Robotics Proficient in Agile Development and understanding/knowledge of JIRA Good understanding of SQL and Unix. Experience in writing SQL queries and oracle stored procedures/functions. Strong desire to build, sense of ownership, urgency and drive. Excellent, verbal and written communication skills. Sound knowledge of JSON, and XML to JSON transformation. Prior experience working in a CI/CD environment with TeamCity/Jenkins . Experience working in an agile team, practicing Scrum, Kanban or XP Exposure to Cloud platforms like GCP/AWS/Azure is good to have. Exposure to frameworks like Junit, Mockito, Cucumber etc. for implementation and unit testing. Ability to produce well-tested, documented, high-performance code to tight schedules EXPECTATIONS: There are a number of common expectations that all experts should demonstrate over and above their technical/specialist contribution. Challenges colleagues to do the same, pushing the boundaries of what is possible to deliver potential for higher levels of organisational performance. Builds, captures and manages the transfers of knowledge across the Professional community. Provides Profession Owners with input that shapes the curriculum. Defines and implements best practices, solutions and standards related to their area of expertise. Demonstrates thought leadership through seeking out opportunities to shape the agenda with Regulators, Government Departments and Professional bodies. Cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with stakeholders and clients by articulating the contribution, commercial impact and benefits of expert roles. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent) - with a minor in Finance, Mathematics or Engineering preferred.
