ETP Operations & Monitoring:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the ETP, including physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes.Monitor key parameters such as pH, COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand), TSS (Total Suspended Solids), TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), and other relevant parameters as per regulatory requirements.Ensure the ETP operates within established discharge norms and compliance with local and national environmental regulations (e.g., CPCB norms in India).Conduct regular visual inspections of the ETP plant, equipment, and surrounding areas.Chemical Analysis & Quality Control:Collect and analyze effluent samples from various stages of the ETP and final discharge.Perform laboratory tests using standard analytical techniques and maintain accurate records of results.Prepare and standardize chemical reagents required for analysis.Identify deviations from desired parameters and initiate corrective actions promptly.Process Optimization & Troubleshooting:Optimize chemical dosing (coagulants, flocculants, pH correctors, etc.) to achieve efficient treatment and reduce operational costs.Troubleshoot ETP operational issues such as unusual odors, high pollutant levels, sludge issues, or equipment malfunctions.Implement preventive maintenance programs for ETP equipment.Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance ETP efficiency and reduce environmental impact.Documentation & Reporting:Maintain detailed and accurate records of ETP operations, chemical consumption, analytical data, and maintenance activities.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on ETP performance, compliance status, and any incidents.Assist in preparing reports for submission to regulatory bodies.Safety & Compliance:Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and procedures within the ETP area, including handling of hazardous chemicals.Conduct safety audits and training for ETP operators/assistants.Stay updated with the latest environmental laws, regulations, and best practices related to wastewater treatment in the ink industry.Participate in internal and external environmental audits.Waste Management:Manage the disposal of ETP sludge and other waste generated, ensuring compliance with hazardous waste management rules.Explore opportunities for waste reduction and recycling within the ETP process.Team Collaboration:Collaborate with production, maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth ETP operations and address any effluent-related concerns.Train and guide ETP operators/assistants on proper operating procedures and safety measures.
