The role provides production support by analyzing and troubleshooting production issues and assisting in the day-to-day operations. Recommends solutions by utilizing industry knowledge assessing operational needs to improve efficiency, workflow, and cost reductions. Works independently and resolves complex and critical business issues with minimal direction.What are the ongoing responsibilities of the Specialist – Investment & Trade Ops – Reference Data?Production Support – 60%Participates and contributes to onboarding activities, such as new fund launches, and account events, such as mergers, conversions, share class launches, liquidations, in-specie transfers, and custodian conversions. Ensures events are successfully completed and front office is ready for Day 1 launch.Responsible for setup/maintenance of Product and Account master data sets in internal and external systems. Ensures departmental policies are followed to ensure integrity of data quality, identify and rectify errors/discrepancies.Master data sets which include Portfolio Managers structure, Investment advisory structure, Investment discretions/restrictions, Information barrier, Cross references for NAV, Fund Administrators, Transfer Agents, Accounting etc. Implement and enforce data standards to maintain consistency at enterprise.Setup/maintain complex fund structures – Master/Sleeve, Master/FeederMaintain Documentation - data definitions, data sources and data flows.Provides guidance on unresolved complex or escalated issues pertaining to client, product, settlements, and legal entity data. Provide direction and make decisions during unexpected events.Identify causes of poor data quality and assist in designing solutions to improve data quality.Leads Business Continuity activities and support internal/external audits.Provide subject matter expertise on activities impacting production issues and support needs.Stay current on industry emerging issues, market initiatives and legislation.Project Participation – 20%Partner with all business teams and technology to ensure projects are successfully implemented with high quality within project timelines.Providing Reference Data expertise on various enterprise level projects and offering recommendations in accordance with DGO (Data Governance Office) standards.Lead and/or support operational business process improvements and initiatives related to functional business unit.Monitor and gain insight into market initiatives and drive changes impacting broker, custodian, and client data into business process.Develop and define requirements, solution design, testing and training, throughout the project lifecycle.Testing – Create test plans, perform testing, participate in defect triage and provide necessary sign offs.Lead team meetings, address issues, and drive team to complete activities timelyAddress and/or escalate when issues are preventing the team from moving forward.Provide training & overviews to support upcoming changes, to ensure staff are aware and prepared for the changes.Providing periodic updates on project status’, upcoming milestones, issues or items requiring attention and related mitigation plansRisk Mitigation, Innovation & Change Management – 20%Implements innovative/automated solutions to enhance controls towards risk reduction & operational effectiveness.Improve data quality using new tools/technology by coordinating with technical and PMO teams.Familiarity with developing workflows using automation tools like Power BI & medium expertise on access, sql etcCoordinating with all end users impacted by the initiative – ensure full understanding and testing in a timely manner, well in advance of deployment.Coordinate and/or provide training on new activities being deployed into production.Ensuring documentation pertaining to system behavior & process workflows stay current and accurate.Lead change management activities – impact analysis, change readiness, mentoring/training & stake holder communication.Recognize and address risk and compliance issues.Suggest and/or support new ideas to promote efficiency and reduction of risk.Follow-through on activities required to implement approved ideas.What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?Solid understanding of all security types, account & settlement reference dataBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics preferred or 4-7 years’ experience in financial services/securities processing.Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and OutlookSolid understanding of all security types, account & settlement reference dataStrong knowledge of FTI’s internal systemsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a team.Work Shift Timings – 6.30 PM – 3.30 AM ISTExperience our welcoming culture and reach your professional and personal potential!Our culture is shaped by our diverse global workforce and strongly held core values.
