Role description: The GEC Discipline Director - Project Assistants role will have the overall leadership of Project Assistants team located across multiple GEC locations ensuring the growth of capabilities and capacity to meet business demands and delivery of high-quality project outcomes. This leader will report to GEC Operations & Special Projects Director. The GEC Project Assistant Team Leads based out of multiple GEC locations reporting into this role. Role accountabilities: Individual accountabilities Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement Provide professional leadership to the GEC project assistants team at a senior management level, taking ownership for the delivery of the GEC technical capability, and supporting the delivery of tasks. Plan and drive the development of Arcadis' Project Assistant capability and capacity in the GEC in coordination with the Global GEC Manager - Project Assistants. Works with Talent Acquisition and Learning Development teams to ensure business needs can be met in advance. Works with finance and workforce planning to ensure alignment to interfacing processes Develop and implement workforce plans regarding building capability and capacity of the team consultation with Global GEC Manager - Project Assistants, GEC PPM Discipline Directors and GEC Directors. Define and agree roles and responsibilities in areas of overlap or adjacency with other functions, including PPM teams, finance and country teams. Leadership and Communication Manage day to day workload within the teams to ensure that direct and indirect hour targets are achieved. Foster a strong culture of health and safety awareness and practices within the teams, setting a leadership example and holding senior staff to account. Communicate change and manage transformation within the team, aligned to the strategic direction of the company and GEC. Engage with country operations directors and finance teams with a culture of collaboration to maximize the seamless experience for an Arcadis Way project manager. Key shared accountabilities Ensure the delivery of tasks within the team is align to the Arcadis Way and to our global way of working as agreed with the Global GEC Manager - Project Assistants. Decision rights Owns: Recruitment, Onboarding and Capability Development for GEC Project Assistants team. Influences: Implementation of the GEC strategy within the GEC Project Assistants team, including changes associated with the operating model Most important performance metrics Compliance to Arcadis Way processes, turn around times of Project Manager requirements, accuracy and quality of teams work Delivery of key operational metrics within the team, such as hourly and cost billability, overtime and other relevant metrics associated with the Project Assistant teams. Qualifications & Experience: ​Familiar with the Arcadis Way DtR process and supportive tooling. ​Excellent Communication skills to be able to build effective working relationships across multiple functions. ​Global Mindset, preferably with experience of working in multiple locations and diverse teams.
