- Project Execution & Customer Satisfaction: Ensure timely delivery of process control system projects with high quality and maximum customer satisfaction.
- Lead a team of engineers in executing automation projects, providing technical guidance and resolving queries efficiently.
- End-to-End Project Delivery: Manage all phases of project scope including design, engineering, logic and HMI development, internal testing, IFAT/FAT, installation, commissioning, SAT, and performance guarantee testing.
- System Architecture & Engineering Documentation: Develop system architecture in compliance with applicable standards, and oversee the preparation and review of design specifications, engineering estimates, and technical documents.
- Planning, Scheduling & Risk Management: Handle project planning, resource allocation, task assignment, and progress reporting. Identify risks and opportunities and define control actions in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Customer Interaction & Change Management: Facilitate technical discussions during KOM and review meetings, document resolutions, and support the Project Manager in managing scope changes effectively.
- Site Execution & Vendor Coordination: Prepare method statements for site activities, assess risks, define control measures, and manage vendor documentation including RFQs and bill of materials.
- Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Adhere to ABB’s code of conduct and functional guidelines, while improving quality, reducing timelines, and optimizing costs.
- 7–10 years of practical experience in DCS, PLC, and SCADA-based automation projects in the Power Generation sector.
- Proficient in ABB Symphony Plus or Harmony DCS systems, with extensive knowledge of industry standards, control system setup, validation, and interfacing protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, HART, IEC 61850, and IEC 104.
- Ability to interpret and work with design documents including P&ID, SLD, PFD, SAMA diagrams, and control narratives. Experience in conducting FAT and SAT is essential.
- Fluency in Japanese (spoken, written, and reading) enables effective communication with local stakeholders.
- Familiarity with field instruments, drives, valves, and IEDs. Capable of effectively organizing tasks and collaborating in cross-functional teams.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a willingness to travel internationally based on project needs.
- Bachelor’s degree (BE/BTech) in Control & Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.
