Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and validation strategies for mechanical systems and components (e.g., enclosures, hinges, fasteners, moving parts).
Analyze test results, identify issues, and drive root cause analysis in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.
Establish component and system-level mechanical requirements, including strength, durability, and reliability targets.
Influence system design in early concept phases to optimize mechanical architecture, working with XFN partners (Product Design, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, Manufacturing).
Own the mechanical performance of the design, partnering with Product Design and other stakeholders.
Support regulatory and compliance processes related to mechanical performance (e.g., drop, vibration, environmental, and safety testing).
Document validation processes, test results, and provide clear reports to stakeholders.
Stay updated on the latest mechanical technologies, standards, and best practices.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience in product validation or testing, with a focus on mechanical systems in consumer electronics or hardware.
Deep understanding of mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Hands-on experience with mechanical test equipment (force gauges, environmental chambers, vibration tables, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with system-level mechanical design and validation for high-volume consumer devices.
Familiarity with regulatory and certification processes for mechanical compliance.
Experience with simulation tools (FEA, CAD) and automation frameworks (Python, Shell, etc.).
Knowledge of hardware debugging and root cause analysis for mechanical issues.
Experience working with contract manufacturers and global teams.
