JOB SCOPE Role : BMC Chemist To conduct various analysis of raw milk at assigned BMC. To maintain and monitor Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices in the BMC. Roles & Responsibilities : To supervise BMC workers personnel hygiene, cleaning and sanitization of plant and equipment as per SOPs/ WIs before and after milk collection. Responsible to understand specification pertaining to raw milk and chilled milk, adherence to sampling, testing and approved test methods during reception, storage and dispatch of milk. Responsible for laboratory management, reagent preparation, upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment's/ reagents, timely calibration of equipment's, understand and adhere GLP and good documentation practices. Responsible for timely analysis and appraisal of test results to Area Officer. Supervise incoming vehicles in terms of hygienic conditions and reporting time. Disposal of waste chemicals / reagents and preserved samples with due information to Area Officer. Responsible to witness drainage/ destruction of non-conforming milk. Supervising cleaning and sanitization practices, preparation of CIP chemical solution, random analysis of strength and presence of residues in cleaned milk handling equipment's as per SOP/ WIs. Supervision of Pest control activities as per the pest control program in BMC. Raise deviations and pest infestation (if any) to the Area Officer Quality Operations. Involvement in hygiene monitoring program of the sites and providing inputs for maintaining hygiene to BMC in charge. Milk tanker inspection before loading and raise deviations to Area Officer Quality Operations. Tracking regulatory requirements of BMCs and Quality communication with BMCs/MPPs. Ensure timely dispatch of milk tankers and compliance to quality requirements Job Requirements The job holder shall be a diploma (Dairy Technology) /Graduate in science (Chemistry / Microbiology) with 1-2 years of experience in chemical/microbiological analysis in food/dairy industry. Good understanding of testing procedures/ methods. Basic understanding of the GMP and GLP. Basic knowledge on hygiene, housekeeping, cleaning and sanitization in milk handling unit. Working knowledge of computer, Internet, MS Office. Education UG: B.Sc in Food Technology, Agriculture, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, Dairy Technology
