To show the world what you can do.Detailed Description:Tooling Engineer - MechanicsMission of the Role: Serve as an industry expert and provide guidance in his area of expertise. The Technical Fellow will be the primary consultant to Executive Leadership, providing vision and solutions on Mechanics to achieve company goals.Key Objectives of this Role:Quote phasePreliminary Plastic flow studiesMaterial recommendationsPreliminary engagement with suppliers and manufacturingInvolved in supplier selection processTools quotes reviewInvolvement in customer TDRs in relation tothe part feasibility and tooling strategyDevelopment phaseDFM reviews (detail design feasibility for tooling draft angles, wallthickness ratio, parting line definition, etc.Plastic Flow studiesMaterial confirmationDrawing reviews incl. tolerance evaluationSupplier interactionTools cost analysisTool design review & approval, tools buy offPart evaluation support dimensional, appearance, etc.Tool trials attendanceInvolvement in customer TDRs in relation to the part feasibility andtooling strategyRoot cause cause analysisUsing UG or Catia to analyze existing tooling designs and improve on them.Developing blueprints for new tooling designs as per client or project specifications.Sharing designs with colleagues and implementing any relevant feedback in the new designs.Developing prototypes and testing new designs.Carrying out quality assurance tests on new designs.Share Lessons Learned with mechanical engineering communitySupport VAVE initiatives by providing some ideas and assessing technical feasibilityDrive innovations in Mechanical domain and lead development on new technologiesProvide to Executive Leadership technical solutions and vision.Key Performance Indicators:Design issues after tool kick-off and product validationRespect of Technical Design Review process and timingBOM costLessons learned sharingKey Year One Deliverables:No non-conformity in Process for Technical Design Reviews on projects he/she is supportingOne training session provided to mechanical engineering communityQualification, Experience and Skills:Experience level 7 to 10 yearsBachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant discipline, NTTF/CIPET,A master’s degree is preferable.Mechanical design Experience in Automotive products development, preferably in Displays, Infotainment, Cockpit Electronic products, Electrification vehicles products.Proficiency and mastery in mechanical domainThe ability to work independently and to collaborate with others.Practical experience using UG or Catia software.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.A good eye for detailLeadership skills.The ability to complete projects on time and to specification.Good communication skills, Oral, writingTraveling to manufacturing plants and factories to gather information and liaise with manufacturing and design teams.Coordination with Cross functional team like Manufacturing, design etc.Ability to direct and solve complex problemsProven supervisory and technical leadership especially in identification and resolution of technical problems.Ability to share knowledge and to mentor and coach mechanical engineerKey Leadership Behaviors:CollaborationCritical ThinkingResilienceResult OrientationVisteon values and beliefsReporting Structure: This role reports to Tooling ManagerVisteon Culture: If you thrive in a fast-paced, organizational culture that requires agility, adaptability, and a growth mindset from its employees to thrive and stay ahead of the curve Visteon is the place.
