- Design and develop reciprocating compressors and compressor-related parts, including cylinders, pistons, crankshaft-driven systems, valves, cylinder lubrication systems etc.
- Prepare detailed mechanical designs, calculations, and drawings in line with customer requirements and internal standards.
- Perform design calculations related to strength, fatigue, pressure containment, vibration and thermal considerations.
- Select materials and components suitable for operating conditions such as pressure, temperature, gas composition, and duty cycle.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable international and industry standards such as API 618, ASME, ISO, PED, and customer specifications.
- Support documentation for quality, inspection, and certification requirements.
- Work closely with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and project teams to ensure design feasibility and timely execution.
- Provide engineering support during fabrication, assembly, testing, and Mechanical Run Tests (MRT).
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues or test failures.
- Contribute to design improvements, standardization, and value engineering initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, and revisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in design of reciprocating compressors, pumps or other similar equipment.
- Strong knowledge of reciprocating compressor fundamentals, components, and operating principles.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo, or equivalent).
- Ability to perform mechanical design calculations and engineering evaluations.
- Familiarity with compressor testing, MRT, and manufacturing processes such as machining and assembly.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with focus on safety and quality.
- Exposure to vibration analysis, piston rod load calculations, or valve performance.
- Familiarity with ERP and PLM systems.
