Introduction: . The candidate will have Global responsibility for the production horizontal reconciliation delivery which includes the daily completion of reconciliations and stakeholder management which spans GMO, Corporate, AP recs and Wealth . Drive automation/productivity/efficiency within the team whilst engaging with change and technology partners. . Responsible for providing leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee engagement, teamwork, collaboration, and communication. . Oversees plans and directs the activities for the Unit, ensuring that the business objectives are being met within GRS. . Responsible for the development and enforcement of controls within the unit to deliver a near to flawless standard of service. . Accountable for ensuring that adequate operations controls are implemented, risks are mitigated, and processes are compliant with regulatory requirements. . Makes staffing decisions, and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities. Builds a diverse team through recruiting, hiring and succession planning. . Demonstrates an understanding of regulations as well as the business impact in each jurisdiction and monitors effective implementation. . Maintains strong relationships with Operations and multiple business stakeholders to meet & exceed expectations of the client. . Strong technical & people manager with leadership qualities to think and act strategically. . Be an effective manager within the unit and with other units by imparting knowledge as appropriate. . Focus on leading and developing people through continuous mentoring / coaching. What will you be doing . Deliver the highest standard of service to internal clients against agreed SLAs. . Ensuring that any risk undertaken is within agreed tolerance levels at all times. . Ensuring you and your team uphold personal conduct in line with the Barclays Way and call out behaviours, actions or decisions that fall short of these standards or are inconsistent with our Values. . Identifying rationalisation opportunities to ensure an efficient delivery of service globally What we're looking for: . A University degree in accounting/finance and experience in Operations / Reconciliation . Strong leadership, management and organizational skills are required to manage and motivate team members towards the established goals. . Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) to interact and manage expectations with stakeholders and management. Skills that will help you in the role: . Knowledge of robotics, Machine learning, Alteryx, Workflow tools, tableau . Capital Markets Knowledge OR experience in middle office or post trade operations . Project management experience including production of detailed project plans, key quality programme deliverables and working and delivering to strict time constraints. . Ability to negotiate/influence at senior level on project scope/cost/time options in order to decide optimum way forward.
