Job Description Job Summary: By joining us as a Commodity Manager. You will Handle the overall deployment and implementation of key supply chain strategies for Fasteners, Plastic & Rubber parts, Buyouts in India, with alignment to global commodity objectives, to gain the optimum result for the Organization. Coordinate deployment of actions in support of the strategic initiatives working closely with the Supplier Quality, Materials and Manufacturing resources. Optimize supply chain effectiveness through continuous improvement of supplier performance. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Develop and implement supply chain strategies to meet manufacturing needs and business objectives. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of global industry activity through close working relationships with suppliers, trade organizations, and market trends. Participate with other WA Commodity Team in developing a comprehensive commodity strategy for review and approval with Senior Management. This review will include: Understanding the needs and objectives of the sites/WA/Business Unit. Establishing commodity strategies to handle growth and risk within the supply chain. Evaluating and selecting preferred sources. Supervise weekly the project implementation and administrate the project's team (contracted suppliers) to ensure established parameters are respected (timeline, technical requirements, cost, quality, insurance and legislation standards, etc.); Develop partnerships with customers and act as the focal point for ensuring customer satisfaction across all of the Installed Base service support contract work. Negotiate procurement terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers. Identify, evaluate, select, and qualify new suppliers Work closely with Global Supplier Quality/Site Quality for tryout part evaluation Work with manufacturing sites to phase in new suppliers for production volume Ensure Relationship development and management with Key Supplier Leaders Identify and implement cost containment/reduction opportunities. Leverage Commodity & Supplier data analysis Alternate sourcing, design improvements, part standardization, supplier consolidation, LTA, etc Perform value analysis on total logistic cost and improve on it Handle supplier performance: Develop structured process with supplier to set and supervise important metric Performing statistical analysis of current quality to drive continuous improvement projects. Technology development Develop and benchmark standard processes among suppliers Develop Project Plans, coordinate activities and hold cross functional partners accountable to implement plans Handle several sourcing projects concurrently in a dynamic environment, Drive & implement Annual & Strategic Plan with Right & Fast execution of strategies Management skill for handling Senior Supplier Performance Engineer/Senior Commodity Engineer Job holder collaborates with the Associate Director/Director, Global Supply Chain in Asia Pacific. Internal relationships with subordinate, peers, cross-functional managers in Valve Business Unit as well as Emerson's Other Business Units Frequent supplier contact and some contact with government agencies. Should be able to handle Supplier Performance Engineer or Commodity Engineer Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the vital skills to optimally apply technology and systems specific to the department required. Strong understanding of direct material use, cost control and negotiation Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering - Mechanical/Chemical or related field, with minimum 10 years of proven experience Strong technical background in Fasteners, Soft parts (Plastic & Rubber) and Buyouts like Actuators, Pressure vessels and ASTM/ASME standards Exposure to various production processes like machining, forging, plastic & rubber moulding etc., Awareness about EMS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 Our Offer to You: By joining Emerson, you will be given the opportunity to make a difference through the work you do.
