Director of Residential LifeJob DescriptionJOB TITLE: Director of Residential LifeREPORTING TO: Head of SchoolCOLLABORATES WITH: Spiritual Program Director, Academic Program DirectorOVERSEES: Residential Caretakers, Medical Coordinator, Counsellor, Kitchen ManagerPURPOSE: The Director of Residential Life is responsible for overseeing all aspects of residential life, including the caretakers, kitchen manager, medical coordinator, and counselor. This position requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to student wellbeing, and the ability to manage a diverse team.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee the residential life program, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.Manage and support the residential team, including caretakers, kitchen manager, medical coordinator, and counselor.Develop and implement policies and procedures related to residential life, in accordance with school guidelines and best practices.Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and communication within the residential community.Serve as a liaison between students, staff, and parents regarding residential life matters.Develop and implement programming to promote student engagement and community building within the residential community.Manage budget and resources related to residential life, ensuring efficient use of resources.Stay current on best practices and trends in residential life and student wellbeing.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in education, health, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.Completed Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training.Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a residential setting.Strong leadership and management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.Knowledge of best practices in residential life and student wellbeing.Commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for students.Experience working in an educational setting preferred.APPLICATION PROCESS: Please submit a resume and cover letter.APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 15, 2024
