- Instruction: Teach dance classes to students of various age groups and skill levels, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.
- Choreography: Create and teach choreography for class exercises, recitals, competitions, and performances.
- Student Evaluation: Assess student progress through observation and feedback, adjusting teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Performance Preparation: Prepare students for performances, including recitals, competitions, and showcases, ensuring they are confident and stage-ready.
- Classroom Management: Manage the dance studio environment, ensuring it is safe, respectful, and conducive to learning.
- Professional Development: Stay current with the latest dance trends, techniques, and pedagogy through continuing education, workshops, and conferences.
- Parent Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress, class expectations, and upcoming performances.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Fine Arts, or related field is preferred. Significant experience in dance and teaching may substitute for formal education.
- Experience: Proven experience as a dance instructor in one or more dance genres. Experience in choreographing and preparing students for performances is highly desirable.
- Certification: Relevant certification or membership in professional dance organizations is advantageous.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity in choreography, patience, and dedication to student development.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to demonstrate dance techniques and participate actively in dance sessions
