Position OverviewIn this role, you will provide hands-on software engineering and system architecture design for Finance and Treasury Delivery teams. You will be working on several of the largest Technology initiatives for Evernorth℠ targeted at revolutionizing Health Services and Healthcare Delivery system. The focus of the work is to continue to enhance our market winning capabilities and tools in this space.The Evernorth℠Technology strategy is fully aligned with our business strategy, resulting in an opportunity for you to influence in various directions – this includes technology\business direction. This is a hands-on position with visibility to the highest levels of Evernorth℠ management who are motivated to see the successful results of our efforts. The solution focuses on enabling this change using the latest technologies and development techniques to operate business operations efficiently with no down times.Responsibilities· Provides leadership, vision, and architectural/design direction for the team.· Leads the team in troubleshooting and problem resolution.· Aligns engineering solutions with the Technology strategy and supports the application’s requirements.· Plans and implements procedures to maximize engineering and operating efficiency for application integration technologies.· Identifies opportunities and drives process improvements.· Takes accountability for the technology assets owned by the team.· Provides leadership to the team to achieve the following objectives:o Design, configuration, implementation of middleware products and application design/development within the supported technologies and products.o Proactive monitoring and management design of supported assets assuring performance, availability, security, and capacity.o Maximize the efficiency (operational, performance, and cost) of the application assets.QualificationsRequired Skills:
  • Expertise in mainframe operating systems like z/OS, database management systems like DB2, IMS, and IDMS.
  • Programming skills - COBOL, JCL, DB2, PL/I, and other mainframe-specific languages
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications using languages like COBOL, JCL, and DB2, analyzing business requirements, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing mainframe systems that support critical business operations, analyzing system performance, and implementing updates.
  • Managing mainframe databases like DB2, IMS, or IDMS, including database design, implementation, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and data security.
  • Implementing and enforcing security protocols, managing access controls, and conducting regular security audits.
  • Testing & Debugging -Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and functionality, and debug issues effectively.
  • Performance Optimization - Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure a smooth and responsive user experience.
  • Code Quality & Standards - Maintain high code quality by following coding standards and best practices, and conducting code reviews.
  • Staying Current - Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies, frameworks, and best practices in web development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills.
  • Strong time and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with agile methodology including SCRUM team leadership.
Required Experience & Education:
  • 8-11 years of experience
  • Proven experience working with technical teams with a passion for the developing the talent within the team.
  • Experience with an onshore/offshore model.
  • Proven experience with architecture, design, and development of large-scale enterprise application solutions.
  • College degree (Bachelor) in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience.
Nice to have skills:
  • Experience in Software Development through Agile Methodology such as SCRUM.
  • Experience/Knowledge of standards, structures and compliance to application standards and methodology
