
EHS and Maintenance Engineer

- Policy & Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with local, national, and international regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Ensure all EHS permits, licenses, and registrations are current and compliant.
- Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
- Incident Management:
- Investigate all EHS incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate records of all EHS incidents and prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Training & Awareness:
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, contractors, and visitors, covering topics such as hazard communication, emergency preparedness, confined space entry, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and fire safety.
- Promote a strong safety culture through regular communication, awareness campaigns, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Environmental Management:
- Monitor and manage waste streams (hazardous and non-hazardous) to ensure proper disposal and minimize environmental impact.
- Implement energy conservation initiatives and promote sustainable practices.
- Ensure compliance with air and water quality regulations.
- Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and disaster recovery.
- Coordinate with external emergency services as needed.
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all manufacturing equipment, test rigs, and technical centre machinery (e.g., CNC machines, grinding machines, heat treatment furnaces, assembly lines, specialized testing equipment).
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to schedule, track, and record maintenance activities.
- Breakdown Maintenance:
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, and execute efficient repairs to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with production teams to prioritize repairs and schedule maintenance activities to minimize disruption.
- Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis:
- Conduct thorough troubleshooting and root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and implement long-term solutions.
- Spares Management:
- Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels for critical components and optimizing procurement processes.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for maintenance process improvements, equipment upgrades, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams on new equipment installations, commissioning, and optimization.
- Facility Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance of plant utilities (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air) and general facility infrastructure.
- Manage external contractors for specialized maintenance tasks.
- 10 years of progressive experience in EHS and Maintenance roles within an automotive manufacturing environment, preferably in bearing manufacturing or a similar precision engineering industry.
- Proven experience with manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, grinding, heat treatment, assembly, and quality control.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing EHS programs, conducting risk assessments, and incident investigation.
- Hands-on experience with various maintenance techniques (preventive, predictive, corrective) and familiarity with CMMS.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with test centre equipment and technical centre machinery is a significant advantage.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities to effectively train, influence, and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is a plus.
