
Head of Country Controlling

- Lead annual operating budget planning, consolidating inputs across Sales, Operations, HR, Admin, and IT.
- Deliver 3-year strategic business plans in collaboration with the CFO and Regional Controllers.
- Run rolling forecast processes and scenario planning based on macroeconomic and business inputs.
- Own end-to-end P&L reporting and financial dashboards for SMT, Board, and Group reviews.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis (volume, revenue, OPEX, yield, contribution margin).
- Present financial deep dives with drill-down by vertical, product, customer, and region.
- Identify underperforming segments and lead performance improvement plans with BU owners.
- Work closely with Regional teams to devise deliverables and drive business results to achieve the same.
- Establish and monitor productivity benchmarks (e.g., OCPK, Cost/Shipment, Route Profitability).
- Work with Ops and Commercial to reduce cost leakages and improve segment-wise contribution.
- Own pricing simulations and their financial impact on margins and profitability.
- Lead evaluation of all major investment proposals (New Hubs, Fleet, Automation, Tech).
- Track Capex utilization and ROI vs. business case assumptions.
- Ensure alignment with DHL Group investment governance thresholds.
- Monitor pricing strategies, product profitability, and revenue realization against budgets.
- Actively engage with sales/product teams for deal reviews, RFP pricing validation, and key account profitability assessments.
- Drive controls around credit, collection, and logic remittance in coordination with AR.
- Devise efficient costing allocation rules and systems and processes to ensure profitability insights across different business dimensions such as products, lanes, customers and so on
- Monitor relevance of costing rules with changing business dimensions and growth aspirations
- Navigate business with strategies to improve profitability with fine balance on growth, absolute profitability and product margins
- Work closely with business to track share of loss making business with sharp analysis so as to drive pricing/costing/operational actions for business improvements
- Drive pricing framework for product tariff, and for RFQs/Tenders for strategic business opportunities
- Ensures timely and accurate reporting requirements for DHL in the areas of planning and budgeting, Monthly CREST and related submissions
- Drive compliance with DHL policies related to accounting and reporting
- Track business profitability as per local financial years and local statutory accounting standards
- Support CFO in analysis of local results for Board reporting
- Track profitability and balance sheet analysis with competition benchmarking, for investor relations including earnings calls
- Monitor and report Net Working Capital, DSO, and Inventory/CAPEX cycle trends.
- Partner with Treasury and R2R on cash flow forecasts and daily liquidity planning.
- Ensure compliance with Group Reporting Guidelines, internal control frameworks, and SOX requirements.
- Support internal/external audits and drive closure of identified action plans.
- Lead a team of country controllers and analysts.
- Drive performance reviews, training, and succession planning within the team.
- Promote cross-functional finance collaboration and support development of high-potential talent.
- Essential: Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA in Finance. Advanced Excel, SAP, and financial visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) expertise
- Essential: 12–16 years of experience in financial controlling, including cost, revenue, and business partnering roles
- Preferred: Extensive experience in financial reporting, audits, taxation, and IFRS across multi-entity setups, with proven leadership in ERP implementation, policy development, and cross-functional team management in sectors like logistics, manufacturing, and services.
