Reporting To: Sr. Manager – Services – Quality (HO)Role OverviewThe role will be responsible for end-to-end field quality assurance and control of electrical systems across utility-scale Solar and Wind projects.The incumbent will act as the custodian of electrical quality at site, ensuring compliance with design specifications, OEM standards, grid requirements, and internal QMS protocols—from installation through commissioning and grid integration.Key Responsibilities1. Field Quality Assurance – Electrical Systems (Solar & Wind)Oversee installation quality across:
Solar Projects:DC systems: module stringing, SCBs, DC cablingInverters (central/string), inverter stations (ISS/PCS)LT/HT panels, transformers33kV/66kV cable systems and terminationsSwitchyard interfaces up to 220kVSCADA, weather monitoring & communication systemsWind Projects:Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs): nacelle cabling, converters, generatorsTower internal cabling and earthingInternal collection systems (33kV/66kV)Switchgear panels, RMUs, transformersPooling & grid substations (PSS/GSS)SCADA, telemetry & communication systemsEnsure adherence to:Approved GFC drawings, SLDs, layoutsOEM guidelines (Vestas, SGRE, GE, inverter OEMs, etc.)Installation best practices2. Inspection & Testing OversightDefine and enforce Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)Supervise:Pre-dispatch inspections (PDI)Material inspection at site (MDCC clearance)Witness and validate:DC Tests: IR, continuity, polarityCable Testing: VLF/Hi-pot, sheath testsTransformer Testing: ratio, vector group, IR, winding resistance, oil BDVPanel Testing: functional checks, interlocks, relay testingProtection Systems & Relay CoordinationSCADA communication and validationEarthing & lightning protection systemsEnsure compliance with FAT/SAT protocols and OEM commissioning standards3. Commissioning & Grid IntegrationOversee pre-commissioning and commissioning readinessEnsure:Inverter and WTG synchronizationProtection relay coordinationSCADA/RTU data validationValidate:Test reports, checklists, punch point closuresGrid compliance prior to energizationSupport:Grid synchronization (STU/CTU)Trial runs and performance testing4. Standards & ComplianceEnsure adherence to:CEA Grid Connectivity StandardsIEC Standards:IEC 62446 (Solar PV testing)IEC 60364 (Electrical installations)IEC 61400 (Wind turbine systems)IS Standards:IS 3043 (Earthing), IS 732 (Wiring)Utility/grid code requirements (STU/CTU/SLDC)Internal ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 frameworks5. Documentation & Quality SystemsMaintain and audit:Quality dossiers, ITP records, inspection logsCommissioning documentation and as-built drawingsLead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for failuresEnsure closure of NCRs and punch pointsSupport third-party inspections and lender audits6. Stakeholder CoordinationCollaborate with:Project execution & construction teamsDesign & engineering teamsOEMs, EPC contractors, and vendorsCoordinate with:WTG OEM teams and inverter suppliersInternal teams (Projects, Engineering, Power Evacuation)7. Continuous ImprovementDrive standardization of QA/QC processes across projectsImplement learnings from:Site audits and failure analysisOEM feedbackImprove SOPs and quality benchmarks across Solar & Wind portfolioQualifications & ExperienceEducation:B.E./B.Tech in Electrical EngineeringExperience:9+myears in electrical QA/QC for utility-scale Solar and/or Wind projectsStrong exposure to site execution + commissioningTechnical CompetenciesStrong understanding of:Solar PV and Wind electrical systems (DC + AC)Substations, collection systems, and grid integrationHands-on experience with:IR testers, HV testing kits, relay testing kitsSCADA systems and grid synchronizationKnowledge of OEM systems (WTGs, inverters, transformers)Additional ExpectationsHigh mobility and willingness to travel across project sitesStrong safety-first mindset
