The Senior Engineer, Protection & Control will report to the Engineering Manager, who will provide supervision for the Protection, Control & Automation design work that includes the following:

Preparation of Protection, Control & Automation designs from conceptual to implementation stage for Transmission, Distribution and Generating stations.
Preparation of Protection & Control single line diagrams, DC/AC control schematics.
Preparation of Automation architecture and designs.
Design and development of panel layouts and bill of materials.
Design and development detailed wiring diagrams.
Development of cable block diagrams and cable and conduit schedules.
Programming of Protection, Control and Automation devices.
Work on reports and calculations.
Perform site visits.
Perform design work in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code.
Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver projects.

What will you contribute?

A Professional Engineer registered (or eligible for registration) with APEGA (Alberta) or EGBC (British Columbia).
Must have a University Degree and have previously taken courses in Protection and Controls.
Must have 5 - 15 years of related work experience.
Knowledge and application of the Canadian electrical code.
Previous electrical design work experience in Transmission & Distribution, and or Generation is considered an asset.
Experience in an engineering consulting environment is an asset.
Experience with AutoCAD and with PLC programming.
Demonstrated excellent written and oral English communication skills.
Must be willing to learn new technologies and programming of devices.
