Senior Cloud / Platform Engineer

• AWS account management and IAM
• Terraform state and drift management
• Monitoring, patching, and backups
• Infrastructure-level incident response
• Documentation and operational maturity
• This is infrastructure ownership - not application development.
• Access Control: Enforcing strict infrastructure access control and ensuring employees can access systems securely without security gaps.
• Threat Management: Conducting security enforcement and continuous threat monitoring.
• Environment Isolation: Properly separating different infrastructure environments to prevent unauthorized cross-access.
• Auditing: Facilitating systematic (at least annual) audits of security measures regarding cloud infrastructure.
• Policy: Introducing and implementing data handling policies.
• Patch Management: Performing regular patches and updates to infrastructure components.
• Vendor Management: Removing dependencies on external vendors who require unnecessarily broad access.
• Advisory: Providing advisory on application architecture and cloud-based software design.
• Backlog Management: Maintaining a curated backlog of infrastructure tasks and improvements in cooperation with the engineering manager.
• Maintaining daily backups (and monthly backups, annual, x year retention, in accordance with our backup policy)
• Conducting 6-monthly disaster recovery tests
• Data Integrity: Managing low-level data integrity to ensure systems run smoothly and remain compliant.
• Developer Support: Serving ad-hoc infrastructure requests from developers and ensuring they can swiftly and safely introduce changes.
• Automation: Automating repetitive manual tasks to save time and resources.
• Experience: Focusing on "Developer Experience" to streamline workflows.

• 7 - 10+ years total experience
• 4+ years hands-on AWS
• Strong Terraform ownership experience
• Prior experience defining platform standards or leading cloud governance.
