Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development with C/C++. Experience in embedded software/firmware design, device driver development, and RTOS/embedded OS environment. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Experience working with embedded processors, Android, Linux kernel, drivers, and BSP. Experience working on commercial wearable/mobile products. Experience in performance analysis and optimization particularly in the domains of embedded systems. Knowledge of one or more of the following: Microcontrollers, SoC, device drivers, hardware bringup, power management, ARM processors, file systems, bootloaders, firmware, or hardware/software integration. As part of the first-party System software team, you will work directly on the next generation of Pixel Watch devices, and will help build the system SW that goes into all our devices. You will work across functions and PA boundaries as well as with silicon vendors to support all aspects of the BSP/Kernel/Storage and the related product software stack to make sure we have shipped products that the users will want to wear on their wrists. In addition to supporting integration across all product, you will work closely with Product, UX, UXR, and other Engineering teams to create great experiences for our users. The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world. Responsibilities Design, development and support for the Pixel watch System Software, including contributing to BSP/kernel/storage, new board/IP bringup, thermal, charging and working with siicon vendor teams. Find solutions to unique problems faced while making a product worth launching, pay close attention to user journeys and experiences. Focus on power/performance/battery life and overall software quality and stability. Work with cross-functional teams to propose and drive new changes and features to WearOS/Android as well as lighting up new features on Pixel Watches.
