Growing together.This position will design, develop, implement, test, deploy, monitor, and maintain the delivery of high-performance Power BI data models and reporting environments. This position would need to be responsible for designing the data models, building the transformations in dbt, automating the data updating workflows, creating the measures, developing complex reports and assuring high performance.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Developing reporting capabilities using Power BI to meet business requirements
  • Designing KPIs, developing dashboard visualizations and complex reports, which involves custom controls and custom expressions using bars, lines and pies, maps, scatter plots
  • Developing advanced measures and features within Power BI
  • Optimizing and tuning performance of data models to meet business requirements
  • Maintaining model documentation and providing business users with training and education
  • Managing entire lifecycle of Power BI report development
  • Accountable for designing, developing and deploying BI data models using DBT
  • Working with Azure Databricks notebooks using Python & Spark
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, database design, data modeling and data warehousing projects
  • 5+ years of experience developing enterprise solutions in Power BI
  • Hands-on experience in utilizing and implementing DAX functions and measures including aggregation, counting, logical and date functions for efficient data visualization
  • Experience using features of Power BI such as Q&A, Key Influencers etc.
  • Experience working with Azure cloud environment and deploying PBIX files to development and to production servers
  • Experience working with Azure, Databricks, DBT, Python + Spark, SQL
  • Experience building direct query models in Power BI
  • Experience with CICD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Maven etc
  • Solid experience in SQL development along with data analysis/insights experience
  • Significant experience building high quality dashboards
  • Deep knowledge on Power Query Parameters, Query Lists, Tables, Records and having expertise in cleansing and transforming data with Power Query Editor
  • Proven excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using dbt to build data models
  • Experience analyzing and building models using health care claims data
  • Databricks. PySpark development experience in data warehousing environment
  • Knowledge of health care concepts -- benefits, pricing, underwriting, stop loss reinsurance, reserves etc.
  • Work as an actuary or with actuaries
