By harnessing automation, CI/CD pipelines, and agentic AI, we’re creating solutions that drive efficiency and innovation across our business.Job DescriptionWhat Youll Be Doing (position summary):As a member of CIBCs Big Data Platform Services (BDPS) Team, the Business Consultant acts as a liaison between business/other CIBC technology teams and the Big Data Delivery team (Enterprise Data Hub (EDH) & Enterprise Data Gateway (EDGE)), ensuring alignment of both functional and non-functional requirements. The roleleadsrequirement gathering sessions, providesexpertiseto project managers, updates leadership on status, and coordinates with peer technology groups to ensure seamless delivery. The Business Consultant will gain a deep understanding of CIBC data, orchestrate complex data mapping, and contribute to key initiatives such as EDH to EDGE migration and data lake development for business users.At CIBC India we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Work closely with business partners to gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements.
Lead andfacilitatesolution design discussions, ensuring alignment with project needs.
Build andmaintainstrong relationships with stakeholders, asking insightful questions to clarify need.

Solution Design & Delivery

Conduct research and current state analysis to support future state capabilities.
Collaborate with technology partners (e.g.,Solution Designers, Architects, Developers) to design solutions that meet business requirements.
Prepare andvalidatesolution design documents, includingscopeclarification, requirements, and quality assurance.

Stakeholder Management

Manage and coordinate with multiple stakeholders, providing updates to project managers and leadership teams.
Serve as the primary point of contact between business units and the Big Data Delivery team.

Data Analysis & Modeling

Analyze and understand data using tools such as SQL, Excel, HUE (Hadoop), and Databricks SQL.
Lead data mapping and profiling activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Build relational, dimensional, and NoSQL data models asrequired.

Continuous Improvement

Identifyopportunities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness within data delivery processes.
Stay current with industry best practices and emerging big data technologies.

Experience: 5+ years of experienceWho You Are (skills/qualifications):Must Have Skills:

5+ years experience as a business consultant, leading multiple projects and designing solutions.
Strong ability to elicit requirements and write clear, comprehensive documentation.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and organizational abilities.
Experience in Enterprise Data Foundation (EDF).
2+ years experience with Jira.
Experience working in waterfall frameworks.
Client-focused, driven by delivering the right solutions.
Enjoysinvestigating and making sense of complex information.
Values teamwork, collaboration, and accountability.
Strong influencing skills and ability to build effective relationships.

Nice to have Skills:

2+ years of experience in Confluence, GitHub.
Experience with data modeling (relational, dimensional, NoSQL) and data profiling.
Experience working in Agile (Scrum, Kanban) frameworks.
Familiarity with Azure cloud services (Azure Data Factory, SQL MI, Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks).
Familiarity with Hadoop services (HDFS, Hive, Impala, Hue).
Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools (SQL, Excel, HUE (Hadoop), Databricks SQL).
