A Welder in a steel manufacturing company cuts, joins, and fabricates steel components using MIG, TIG, or Stick techniques, ensuring structural integrity based on blueprints. They set up machines, maintain equipment, inspect welds for quality, and adhere to strict safety protocols. Key requirements include technical knowledge of metal properties, certification, and physical stamina.Key Responsibilities
  • Fabrication & Assembly: Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to weld, cut, and shape steel components in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead).
  • Welding Operations: Perform high-quality MIG, TIG, or Stick welding, ensuring proper fusion of metal parts.
  • Inspection & Quality Control: Inspect completed welds for defects, ensuring they meet structural integrity standards and company specifications.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Set up, calibrate, and maintain welding equipment, tools, and machines (e.g., torches, plasma cutters).
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA and company safety protocols, using protective gear to manage heat and fumes.
  • Production Collaboration: Work with fabricators and engineers to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: Proven experience as a welder or fabricator in a manufacturing setting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding techniques; ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Certifications:
