Structural Integrity – Turbine Operations (FEA) - Steam Turbine R&D
- Gurgaon, Haryana
- Permanent
- Full-time
- Assess the mechanical integrity of critical steam turbine / expander components including rotors, diaphragms, blades, casings, valve bodies, bolts, and welds using detailed FEA and analytical methods.
- Evaluate damage mechanisms such as:
- Low-cycle and high-cycle fatigue (LCF/HCF)
- Creep and creep-fatigue interaction
- Thermal ratcheting and cyclic thermal stress
- Crack initiation and propagation (fracture mechanics)
- Technology development for Steam Turbine Operations based on Turbine Loading conditions, Controlling Logics, Life Assessment, etc.
- Collaborate with Thermal cycle, Mechanical design, Operations, and Service / Warranty teams to improve component longevity and reliability.
- Prepare technical documentation: Integrity Assessments, Risk Analyses, Stress Reports, and Service Recommendations.
- Provide engineering support during Proposal, Manufacturing / Assembly, Turbine Outages, Overhauls, and Start-up/Shutdown sequences.
- Stay up to date with steam turbine integrity standards, such as ASME PTC, API 579, and OEM guidelines.
- As per the business needs, flexibly switch to other calculation topics like Rotor dynamics, Thermodynamics, etc. Therefore, additional experience in such calculations would be a great advantage.
- BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech (Mechanical - any Govt. Engineering college) with CGPA
- Strong command of FEA tools (e.g., ABAQUS, ANSYS) and fatigue/crack growth software. - Mandatory
- Understanding of Rotordynamics & Thermodynamics fundamentals will be beneficial.
- Relevant work experience in Turbomachinery will be added advantage.
- Knowledge of Finite Element Method (FEM) is mandatory.
- Ability to work in Global Team in VUCA environment.
- Be part of a cutting-edge R&D team driving innovation in thermal power.
- Help optimize asset performance and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Shape the future of safe, efficient and intelligent turbine operation through engineering excellence.
- Competitive compensation and career development in a forward-looking engineering environment.
