- Lead the investigation and translation of business and technical requirements into comprehensive test cases.
- Design and manage end-to-end testing activities for multiple projects, including development and maintenance of test plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites using tools such as Tosca DI, Selenium, Cucumber, Parasoft, and similar platforms.
- Execute manual and automated test cases, document results, and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Ensure all testing activities comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present regular status reports, test metrics, and risk assessments to project leadership.
- Create and execute automation strategies, frameworks, and tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
- Integrate automated testing scripts with DevOps tools and processes.
- Set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals roles support the achievement of the business units priorities and CIBCs overall goals.
- Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training.
- Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance, and explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities.
- Create a positive work environment and act as an effective role model by championing CIBCs mission, vision, and values.
- Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines, and controls by applying them fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect.
- Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.
- Coach and mentor testing team members in business domain knowledge, functional testing, automation, and non-functional testing.
- Coordinate efforts of internal staff and external vendors to ensure timely completion of test phases.
- Monitor project milestones, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful delivery.
- Identify obstacles or risks impacting project timelines and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Build trusted working relationships with business stakeholders and technology partners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all testing-related communications among project stakeholders.
- Negotiate deliverables and milestones as necessary.
- Collaborates with project managers, developers, quality engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality testing solutions.
- Coordinates with internal teams and external vendors for test planning and execution.
- Works horizontally across multiple departments to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Participates in committees and forums related to testing standards and practices.

- Direct management of the Quality Engineering team within Core Banking and Payments Technology.
- Responsible for the execution and oversight of multiple concurrent testing projects.
- Manages internal and external resources, including vendors, to support testing activities.
- Accountable for the achievement of testing deliverables within project timelines and budgets.
- Provides advisory and support services to project teams across various lines of business.
- Proven 10+ years of experience in a management role, with proficient knowledge of Testing Life Cycle, SDLC, and Defect Management processes for application testing and support.
- 5+ years of experience in automation or equivalent technical role, with hands-on expertise in test automation tools (Selenium/Robot Framework, Parasoft SOAtest, Postman, Rest Assured, Cucumber, or similar).
- Experience with test management tools (JIRA, OpenText AQM).
- Strong understanding of QE processes, SDLC, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to build and integrate automated testing scripts and strategies with DevOps tools.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to express technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence outcomes.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies and industry changes.
- Experience leading large projects/programs as the overall testing lead.
- Experience writing Test Strategies and Test Plans for large initiatives.
- Experience with testing large finance applications, ETL, and databases (eg SAP, Databricks, Oracle).
- Hands on experience writing and executing test cases.
- Hands on experience with ETL testing using Databricks, Python, SQL, Java and/or equivalent.
- Familiar with industry test automation tools and frameworks utilizing Tricentis/ Tosca or equivalent (hands on experience preferred).
- Preferred experience with Python and Java, and SQL database skills.
- Experience testing financial applications: SAP, Coupa, Peoplesoft.
- Experience implementing test automation frameworks.
- Experience writing complex queries using Python, Java, and SQL.
- Experience with Power BI.
- Familiar with AI trends and opportunities related to QE.
