Job Category: AssociateJob Description:The SecDb team is responsible for the engineering and management of a business-critical pricing and risk calculation platform used by revenue-generating and federation divisions. We are now expanding our focus to modernize our infrastructure through the adoption of Container strategies and containerization. This initiative accelerates deployment, enforces runtime immutability, supports microservices architecture, and provides scalable, resilient environments for our applications.As a developer on our team, you will:

Partner with global developers and strategy/business-aligned technology teams.
Create solutions and develop new features or improve existing services to meet ever-evolving business requirements.
Participate in the migration from proprietary platforms to modern, scalable microservices architecture leveraging Container concepts and container ecosystems.
Design systems using containerization best practices (e.g., immutable containers, segregation of binary/config/state) while contributing to container orchestration strategies, primarily using Kubernetes.
Ensuring seamless integration of containerization principles with legacy and new systems.
Collaborate on defining the proper conventions, runtime orchestration, and integration strategies that are essential for improving developer productivity, enhancing security protocols, and lowering total cost of ownership.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

Work at the core of a strategically important system at GS, impacting both revenue and federation divisions.
Engage with global teams across various time zones and directly interact with business and additional technical teams.
Innovate and implement container-based solutions (with Kubernetes) to enhance deployment resiliency, speed, and operational efficiencies.
Gain deep insights into financial derivatives pricing and trade modeling while leveraging modern containerization techniques.
Influence the strategic direction of our platform by integrating TSM initiatives that accelerate containerization benefits, resulting in more efficient and controlled production deployments.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
Proficiency in a strongly typed compiled language (e.g., Java, C++) with 3+ years of experience.
Demonstrated experience working with large software systems, distributed computing, and both SQL and NoSQL databases.
Proven team-player with excellent collaborative skills.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & TECHNOLOGIES (Preferred)

Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration frameworks (e.g., Kubernetes).
Exposure to continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines with containerized environments.
Familiarity with Container development strategies that focus on immutable container deployments, runtime isolation, and the segregation of application components.
Understanding of how modern containerization minimizes operational overhead and enforces security and regulatory compliance.
Motivation to learn about trading workflows and financial market dynamics.
Overall relevant industry experience of 2+ years is a plus in container and Kubernetes.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize under pressure.
