Position Title: Accountant (Power BI reporting) Job Location: Bangalore - India Job Descriptions The accountant (Power BI) will have the opportunity to develop and support the Power BI system solution functionality of one or more applications or business to support our Accountable Reporting transition to an Operations Center of Excellence. This role will partner with Strategy & Execution Business Manager and Senior Staff Accountant to design and develop key data visualizations for Global Business Services (GBS). In addition to ensuring a successful reporting standardization and transition, the role offers opportunity to identify and lead onboarding future processes. This position will work closely with business units across the enterprise, our GBS organization and the Global Finance Strategy team to ensure alignment of processes for Caterpillar. Main Job Responsibilities Include Creating reports on financial performance for internal use as per the set corporate guidelines and standard framework Supporting monthly closing timelines, with data validations, new reports and partnering with Corporate consolidations group. Validate solution design, including prototyping and configuration for an application or process Validate process documentation for the application or process Participate in test script creation for new content releases or deployments for an application or process Establish business rules for the use of an application or process Establish security data classifications for the application or process Business escalation point for any conflicts or concerns with the application or process Represent the application or process with other areas of the business who use or integrate with this part of the business Seek input from relevant areas of the business that should have inputs to this application or process Understanding, evaluating and reacting to routine problems or situations with external contacts is also part of this assignment Interaction within the framework of existing business policies and practices and/or established business relationships Problems and issues usually involve careful interpretation, analysis or diagnosis Identify the nature of a complex or undefined problem and then develop the best solution or application from numerous alternatives Develop well-prepared action plans for the current year and has a clear sense of what needs to be achieved in the year to come. Ad hoc support as needed Basic Requirements Strong communication and presentation skills among various organizations Ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholder groups (process, technology, HR/organization, etc.) to drive outcomes Experience in working in a matrix organization structure with global stakeholders from different time zones.
