Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead our APEASY engineering team. You will manage a team of 10-15 engineers, architects, and QA professionals, drive technical excellence while delivering business value through high-quality software solutions. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management and strategic planning.Supervisory Responsibilities:

Software Engineers (various levels)

Software Architects

Test/QA Engineers

Technical Writer(s)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of 10-15 software professionals

Manage all personnel activities including hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and career development

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence

Build and maintain high-performing, collaborative teams

Technical Leadership:

Establish and enforce development standards, best practices, and architecture guidelines

Conduct and facilitate code reviews to ensure quality and knowledge sharing

Maintain deep technical understanding of applications and systems under your purview

Make informed decisions on technology stack, tools, and architectural approaches

Balance technical debt with feature delivery

Product Delivery:

Partner with Product Management to ensure on-time, high-quality releases

Drive execution of sprint commitments and quarterly objectives

Implement processes and tools that meet business and customer requirements

Track and report on team metrics, velocity, and delivery health

Ensure sustainable pace and realistic commitments

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience

5+ years of professional software development experience

3+ years leading engineering teams (5-15 people)

3+ years of hands-on Java development experience

2+ years working in Agile/Scrum environments

Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns

Experience with full SDLC, CI/CD, and DevOps practices

Proven track record of hiring and developing engineering talent

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred:

Groovy on Grails experience

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Scrum Master or similar Agile certifications

Experience with microservices architecture

Background in US healthcare product development (HIPAA)

Management or leadership training/certification
