- Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of 10-15 software professionals
- Manage all personnel activities including hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and career development
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence
- Build and maintain high-performing, collaborative teams
- Establish and enforce development standards, best practices, and architecture guidelines
- Conduct and facilitate code reviews to ensure quality and knowledge sharing
- Maintain deep technical understanding of applications and systems under your purview
- Make informed decisions on technology stack, tools, and architectural approaches
- Balance technical debt with feature delivery
- Partner with Product Management to ensure on-time, high-quality releases
- Drive execution of sprint commitments and quarterly objectives
- Implement processes and tools that meet business and customer requirements
- Track and report on team metrics, velocity, and delivery health
- Ensure sustainable pace and realistic commitments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- 3+ years leading engineering teams (5-15 people)
- 3+ years of hands-on Java development experience
- 2+ years working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
- Experience with full SDLC, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
- Proven track record of hiring and developing engineering talent
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Groovy on Grails experience
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Scrum Master or similar Agile certifications
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Background in US healthcare product development (HIPAA)
- Management or leadership training/certification
