- Structural Design & Analysis: Perform detailed structural analysis and design of steel and concrete structures in compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Code Compliance: Apply Eurocodes and American design codes (such as AISC, API, ASTM, ACI, ASCE) to ensure structural integrity and regulatory adherence.
- Brownfield Project Expertise: Assess, modify, and upgrade existing structures to accommodate process changes, increased loads, and safety requirements in brownfield environments.
- Deliverables Preparation & Review: Independently prepare, review, and approve civil and structural engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and calculations, ensuring compliance with quality management systems.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including process, piping, mechanical, and electrical engineers, to optimize project execution and resolve engineering challenges.
- Structural Detailing & Drawings: Oversee and review detailed structural drawings, layouts, and models, ensuring accuracy and constructability.
- Site Support & Modifications: Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities, including structural assessments and modifications as required.
- Quality & Safety Compliance: Adhere to company quality standards and industry best practices, ensuring a high level of safety and structural reliability in all designs.
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
- Experience: 57 years of relevant experience in Chemical, Petrochemical, or Oil & Gas industries, with a strong focus on brownfield projects.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong knowledge of Eurocodes (EN 199x) and American standards (AISC, API, ASTM, ACI, ASCE, etc.).
- Experience with structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with CAD tools like AutoCAD, Tekla, or Revit for structural detailing and modeling.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of industry best practices, material selection, load calculations, and seismic design considerations.
