The Production Engineer is responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, and control of
production activities in the Raw Division. The role requires strong technical expertise in
casting and machining processes, along with the ability to work hands-on with machines
when required.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution
Receive production plans from PPC.
Analyse plans based on machine capacity, manpower, and material availability.
Release and distribute production load to section in-charges.
Adjust production schedules as per shop floor conditions.
Resource Optimization
Assess manpower capability before assigning tasks.
Shift or balance load between sections based on efficiency.
Ensure maximum utilization of machines and workforce.
Production Monitoring & Control
Monitor daily production vs target.
Identify bottlenecks and take corrective actions.
Maintain smooth workflow across all sections.
Machine Breakdown Management
Monitor machine health and downtime.
Coordinate with maintenance for quick resolution.
Implement preventive measures to reduce breakdowns.
Quality Control
Ensure production meets quality standards.
Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection and improvements.
Take corrective action on quality issues.
Reporting & Board Updates
Section-wise load
Material requirements
Delivery status (graphical format)
Maintain daily/weekly production reports.
Team Management
Handle shop floor manpower and supervisors.
Ensure discipline, safety, and productivity.
Motivate team to achieve targets.
Coordination
Coordinate with stores for metal/raw material requirements.
Ensure timely availability of materials.
Work with PPC, maintenance, and QA teams.
Attendance Management
Monitor worker attendance and shift planning.
Handle absenteeism and arrange backups.
Hands-on Machine Operation (Mandatory)
Ability to operate machines when required.
Technical Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of:
Casting processes
Lathe machines
Hydraulic machines
Automation machines
Ability to troubleshoot shop floor issues.
NOTE: Hands-on experience with machine operation (mandatory).
Qualifications
Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering
Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing (preferred)
