- Generating Technical Drawings: Create precise and detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD software for various aspects of oil and gas projects, including:
- P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams): Illustrating the functional relationships of piping, instrumentation, and system components.
- PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams): Representing the overall flow of processes within a plant or facility.
- Isometric Piping Drawings: Providing a 3D view of piping systems to aid in installation and construction.
- Equipment Layout and General Arrangement (GA) Drawings: Showing the spatial arrangement of equipment and major components within a facility.
- Civil and Structural Drawings: Depicting foundations, supports, and other civil structures supporting oil and gas installations.
- Detailed Piping Drawings, including spool drawings for fabrication.
- As-Built Drawings: Capturing the final configuration of a system after construction is complete.
- This may include Industry specific standards such as OISD and those for layouts of oil and gas installations.
- Also, Petroleum standards for pipelines covering design, materials, installation, testing, and safety.
- Adherence to ASME B31.3, B31.4 requirements for Piping and pipeline design and material specifications.
- Incorporate safety features like automatic shut-off valves, and intrinsically safe systems to prevent ignition in hazardous environments.
- Documentation and Quality Control: Maintain organized records of all drawings and revisions, implement robust version control, and conduct thorough quality checks to ensure drawings are accurate, error-free, and meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Soft Skills and Abilities:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience as an AutoCAD drafter, preferably in the oil and gas or related industries (design/EPC/petrochemical/water).
- Professional certification in Computer-Aided Design may be advantageous.
- Experience with specific software used in the oil and gas industry, such as CADWorx, SmartPlant, AutoPLANT, and PDMS.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) concepts and tools like Revit and Navisworks.
- Familiarity with document management systems (DMS) such as ProjectWise and ACONEX.
- Understanding of relevant building codes and regulations in the specific region of operation.
- Awareness of safety protocols, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation strategies in oil and gas operations.
