Position
As a Materials Manager in our hospital, you will be responsible for supervising and monitoring the activities of the general store to minimize stockouts and optimize inventory levels. This role involves ensuring the procurement of materials at the right time, quantity, and price, maintaining minimum stock variance, and ensuring proper storage and housekeeping in the stores. You will also be accountable for keeping all store records in compliance with statutory requirements.ResponsibilitiesLeadership
  • Model and promote organizational core values in work practices, maintaining quality standards as per ISO.
  • Develop and implement short and long-term goals for the department.
  • Provide administrative support and maintain effective communication across departments.
  • Participate in materials management policy formulation and decision-making.
Financial
  • Approve gate passes and finalize purchase order prices in consultation with senior management.
  • Procure materials efficiently and at the lowest possible cost, focusing on cost reduction through various strategies.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure purchase records are compliant with statutory requirements.
Safety Management
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies for the safe storage of materials.
  • Facilitate quality improvement initiatives and maintain materials in proper condition.
  • Manage expired materials effectively to ensure patient safety.
HR Management & Staff Development
  • Oversee orientation, training, and continuing education for personnel.
  • Promote staff development and act as a mediator in conflict situations.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and appraise staff performance, ensuring efficient manpower utilization
Requirements
  • Graduate in Science or Pharmacy with Post-Graduate Diploma / MBA / Degree in Materials Management
  • Minimum 10 years experience in procurement and stores in the Healthcare industry, preferably in a Hospital, out of which at least 3 years should be as Head of the department.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and teams.
