Are you ready to go beyond Job Description: The Materials & Processes Engineering (MPE) Modeling group is seeking a Materials Modeling Engineer with front-end software development experience who can support the development and implementation of materials modeling tools and methods for gas turbine engine applications. The candidate will become part of a highly focused modeling team in a fast moving and challenging environment. The Materials Modeling Engineer will support the development, implementation, and maturation of materials modeling and simulation tools and methods. These efforts may include developing tools/software to improve workflows and user interfaces for existing models, development and implementation of computational methods, data mining and analysis. Responsibilities include assessing current model tool maturity, utilization of existing and new models to support on-going program activities, and model enhancement and validation as appropriate. Responsibilities: Evaluate materials and processes using existing material modeling pipeline. Improve existing workflow and user interface applications. Work with internal and external customers to define requirements, provide expert consultation, plan, and execute modeling projects, analyze results, and author technical reports. Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to identify continuous improvement opportunities. Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (with 5+ year experience) or Advanced degree (with 2+ year experience) in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field. Experience in modeling (FEA/CFD etc.) preferably for materials and processes. Ability to code in Python and/or C++. Broad knowledge of materials and process modeling tools/techniques, data analysis and development of front-end software for user applications Preferred Qualifications: Experience with data engineering. Strong learner who is comfortable learning new libraries and frameworks. Experience working in an agile environment. Good communication skills and working as a team player.
