Visit to learn more!ResponsibilitiesMechanical Engineering group at WITEC, supports a multitude of business units across the globe and various projects/product lines, in the mechanical design, drawing generation and finite element (FE) calculation areas. As a key member of this group dealing with providing design & detailing solutions for business problems & new development, the job responsibilities are laid out as hereunder:Key Result Areas:Make delivering projects as per the cost & schedule targets set by the Business units a priority and ensure the desired quality in the output is met consistentlyDetailed design of assemblies and products taking into account the specified manufacturing technology, materials, technical standards as well as regulations and laws.Good understanding of Fabrication, Sheetmetal modeling and Welding standardsShould have 7 to 9 years of hands on experienceMulti CAD expertise desirable – Solidworks/Creo/Autodesk Inventor/AutocadMust develop new, complicated drawings, create parts lists, wiring diagrams, layouts, detailed assembly drawings, and part outlinesAbility to make accurate mechanical engineering drawings and create bills of material for orderingMust work independently and deliver flawlessSupport different activities for analysis, proposals, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspectionShould have knowledge of sheet metal parts manufacturing, casting design & machined parts manufacturingShould have good understanding of Design for Manufacturability & Assembly (DFMA) principles.Should be able to clearly understand the inputs and estimate hours required for executionShould have knowledge on GD&T as per ASME / EN standards, Stack up analysis.Should have good knowledge on materials including carbon and stainless steel, heat treatment processDesired CharacteristicsExperience in working with Global teams in a MNC type of set upStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong presentation skillsGood interpersonal skillsGood team playerQualificationBachelors /master’s degree in mechanical engineering with minimum 8 years of design experienceOur Commitment to Embrace Diversity:Wabtec is a global company that invests not just in our products, but also our people by embracing diversity and inclusion.
