Every solution is tailored and designed based on a project-by-project assessment of the customers' individual requirements, whether it's for connecting offshore/onshore wind generation, long distance power transmission, or energy trading between independent networks. Within this cross-centres and multicultural organization, the plant engineer is responsible to design optimized substation layouts that integrate all the required equipment considering their installation, operation, and maintenance constraints. He reports directly to engineering team leader. The candidate shall execute with association of workgroups, where applicable, in order to meet assigned objectives. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term, medium planning. Job Description General responsibilities: Execute & analyse, design, test, or integrate required to define and support systems that meet business standards and project requirements. Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers for necessary approvals. Document and communicate results of technical data generated. Participate on teams assigned to address specific projects assigned. Share engineering information and promote open dialogue. Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business. Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Specific Role Requirements Candidates should be well conversant with good command on design of R.C.C./steel framed industrial Buildings, design of Isolated foundation, Raft foundation, deep foundation i.e. pile foundations, design of foundation of equipments with dynamic loading, design of underground water tanks, trenches. Layout engineering i.e., development of land development plan, foundation layout cable trench layout, road networking, developing of plant drainage scheme etc. Pre-tender design skill shall be an added advantage. Should have fairly good idea of sub-station civil work design and detailing. Candidate should specifically possess excellent interface skills. Design engineering of Steel structures for HV substation/switchyard e.g., girders, gantries, tower, and support structures (Lattice/Pipe type) for yard equipments shall be an added advantage. Interface with Electrical engineering team to get timely input in standard interface format. Responsible to produce highly optimized & technically correct design document. Co-ordination project management, site & Supply chain management. Flexible and quick learner. Good knowledge of Indian Standards and international standards codes, industrial practice, safety by design/EHS aspects. Estimation skill is an essential requirement and should be able to provide accurate estimation during tender stage. Additional Requirements Should have performed the design of switchyard structures independently for atleast 2-3 projects. Competency on specialized tools like STAAD/Revit. Good command on 3-D design tools and hands on experience with 3D drafting Tools. Understanding of interface aspects i.e., electrical, and mechanical aspects that impact the Civil design. Aligning the action to meet project schedule and business KPIs. Qualifications / Requirements Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent, from an accredited college or university with 3 to 5 years of experience on project engineering. Essential Pre-Requisites And Deliverables Should have fairly good idea of sub-station civil work design and detailing. Candidate should specifically possess excellent interface skills. To be able to work on standard IT Tools for the everyday deliverables to the level of competency expected out of the role. Proficient in use of MS Office / well worse with MS excel & Mathcad calculation tools. Exhibit accountability/Ownership; deliver shared responsibilities with team working.
