BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Physician with successful completion of MD degree and post-graduate training in internal medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics or obstetrics and gynecology. Other medical or surgical specialties will be considered.
  • 8+ years of post-graduate clinical experience delivering healthcare in a variety of outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • 5+ years of healthcare leadership and / or employee health benefits experience in APAC or MEA countries.
  • Ability to interface and communicate through written and verbal communication to all levels of the organization and influence business leaders.
DESCRIPTION“Amazon's Global Benefits team is looking for a Principal Medical Advisor to lead strategy and medical consultation of health benefits strategies for APAC and MEA (Middle East and Africa) regions.This role will focus on supporting international programs and optimize health benefits program strategy and administration outside of the United States. The successful candidate will be a global health thought-leader, with a specific focus on our APAC and MEA regions. Additionally, this role will take on a leadership position in optimizing health programs, spend, new program evaluations, RFPs, and time-sensitive escalations.”Key job responsibilities
-Support other Int'l Regions as needed (EU, CAN, LATAM, US)
- Provide just-in-time clinical support of employee or business line escalations related to medical coverage or exceptions (i.e., whether medical necessity to justify exceptions, ex-pat gaps in care.)
- Medical guidance for Umbrella Plan strategy, Cigna Int'l Health Plan, and Global Health Benefits Framework.
- Write (independently or co-author) strategy documents and program reviews for new or existing medical benefits.
- Provide internal medical validation of 3P vendor proposals, RFPs, or consultant recommendations.
- Advise Benefits Managers on country specific health concerns / voice of the customer (VOC) related to health benefits.
- Connect with key employee-facing medical program stakeholders (Global Medical Checks, Leave Services, Workplace Health & Safety) to APAC / MEA Benefits Managers to optimize Benefits programs, reduce duplication of services.
- Develop Clinical Competency for global Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult Medical Benefits Strategy
- Periodic international business travel as needs arise.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Bangalore, KA, INDPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of post-graduate clinical experience delivering healthcare in a variety of outpatient and inpatient settings
  • 8+ years of healthcare leadership and / or employee health benefits experience in APAC or MEA countries
  • Experience in local, regional, or national healthcare programs (Public health, governmental or academic healthcare institutions). Understanding of local private healthcare market factors and health innovations are desired.
