Diploma / Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering + Bachelors or Masters degree in Industrial Design or Product Design from an accredited institution. 2-5 years of experience, hands-on industrial design activities Ability to develop original ideas, as well as ideas passed down from management, and take them from concept to reality. Exceptional design skill and the ability to communicate form through sketch, 2D, and 3D modeling. We are dealing in reality, and producing real products. The candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of the design process as well as the ability to design for various manufacturing and production processes, materials, etc. Bring ideas through design and hands-on execution in all phases of the Industrial Design process from concept development, sketching, 3D concept modeling, digital rendering to definition of Color/Material/Finishes. Deliver high quality graphics and presentations driving visual appeal of the design concepts. Research, forecast and communicate styles and trends as they relate to product design. Collaborate and work effectively as part of a cross functional team Engineering/Manufacturing. A thorough understanding and integration of Design Thinking and User Experience principles in the product development process. Mechanically inclined, with solid understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes and materials with emphasis towards medium or high-volume manufacturing. Well-developed and demonstrated interpersonal skills. Must be able to take ownership and responsibility for various projects, and have the ability to deliver within given deadlines and budgets.
