Job Description Summary: Job Profile Summary The User Experience Designer II continuously strives to improve the usability of Rocket products and leads the way in being a proactive advocate for users. In this role, the UX Designer works strategically, partners with stakeholders and Information Developers, and employs various UX methodologies including user research to ensure designs that provide the highest degree of user satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Advocates for great user experiences Creates iterative mockups or prototypes for new features and enhancements, and clearly communicates designs Designs and conducts user walkthroughs and formative usability tests to understand user challenges, test prototypes, and validate designs Assists senior designers in planning and conducting user research. Develops personas, journey maps, empathy maps, and other artifacts that define user requirements and inform design decisions. Collaborates with Product Management, Product Development, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements, business goals and product direction Builds relationships with project stakeholders and contributes to discussions on product strategy and design. Collaborates with information developers to determine UI text and messaging to best meet user needs Contributes to our design system to build visual and interaction pattern consistency across Rocket products Required Qualifications: 4+ years of related work experience improving the usability of complex products A portfolio that demonstrates interaction design, user research, and user-centered design process Experience with the agile development process Proficient with design programs and prototyping tools (for example, Adobe XD, Axure, Sketch, or Figma) Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Excellent written and interpersonal skills Strong prioritization skills Demonstrated ability to think critically about user tasks and workflows Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with accessibility and internationalization best practices Experience with products that run on IBM i, IBM Z (mainframe), Linux, and UNIX Experience with data visualization Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in human-computer interaction, human factors, or a relevant discipline such as computer science, industrial design, or cognitive psychology Travel Requirements: 5%Information Security:Information security is everyone's responsibility.
