Key Result Areas & Outcomes expected from the Role:
Crew- Crash Fire Tender
- Check serviceability of all the equipment and level of water and extinguishing media in the respective vehicles.
- Carry out regular maintenance of fire appliances and equipment.
- Carry out other duties as instructed by CFT in Charge.
- Carry out rescue & fire-fighting operations as directed, in case of any fire/ incident.

- Carry out rescue, fire-fighting operations as directed, in case of any fire/ incident.
- In case of emergency / fire call to augment the water supply to the crash Fire Tender as and when required
- Check the serviceability of the ambulance and other equipment.
- Responding to any ambulance call as instructed by Asst Shift in Charge / Shift in Charge.
- To give first aid to the patients as and when required.
- To handle the stretcher for loading and offloading the patients in ambulance.
- In case of fire / emergency proceed to the incident/accident site, carry out rescue operations and bring injured persons to the triage area.
- Take patients to the hospital as instructed by Medical Officer.
- Check the panel board of Fire Detection & Alarm system, Communication system, loose equipment and its serviceability. If any defect is noticed the same will be informed to the respective fire control room in charge.
- Carry out periodic inspection of terminal buildings to ensure fire prevention measures. If any escape route is obstructed, Extinguisher, hydrant, sprinkler system defect noted should be intimated to in-charge respective fire control room.
- In case of fire call / fire alarm respond to the spot immediately and revert back the situation to in-charge respective Fire control room.
- In case of requirement to suppress the fire, use nearest fire extinguishers or fire hydrants.
- On arrival of Crash Fire Tender he will guide them to the correct location.
- To inspect the building on every three hours with R/T set and make an entry in occurrence book. If any fire hazardous unsafe condition material accumulation is noticed, the same should be brought to the knowledge of FCR In-Charge.
- Regularly testing and maintenance of first-aid fire extinguishers Smoke extractor and loose equipment available in terminal buildings, cargo terminals, and import ware house and ancillary buildings, if any defect is noticed, same to be informed to in-charge Fire prevention cell.
- Check water level in all static tanks once in a week. Fill the water level in co-ordination with duty officer Fire station, if water level falls below marking. Same to be informed to In-charge Fire prevention cell.
- Periodical checking of fire hydrants & wet risers, sprinkler systems and fire detections alarm systems in co-ordination with In-charge Fire prevention cell &Engineering department.
- To assist Fire prevention officer in conducting training/ awareness program.
- Carry out site inspection of area on a periodic basis, where Hot Work permit has been issued.
- Assist the Control room in-charge in allocation of duties to fire crew as per the roster and maintain attendance.
- Check all communication.
- Assist Control room in-charge in organizing and smooth functioning of all types of incident/accident.
- In case of emergency / fire inform Sr. Manager (Fire) / GM (ES) / & other agencies as per laid down procedure.
- Co-ordinate with City Fire Brigade in emergency situation.
Essential: 6 months basic fire fighting course.
