Introduction: KCIRI, Mechanical Engineering department and Aeronautical Engineering department of KCT has received a funded research project for the period of two year from Aeronautics Research & Development Board (AR&DB), titled as 'Design of Variable Mach number nozzle system for Trisonic wind tunnel'. To execute the research work, KCT got approval from AR&DB to have a Junior Research Fellow - I to work on the project. Educational Qualification: Senior Research Fellow: Master's degree in engineering (Aeronautical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering), preferably with GATE. Junior Research Fellow (Mech): Bachelor's degree in engineering (Aeronautical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering), preferably with GATE Qualified. Junior Research Fellow (ECE): Bachelor's degree in engineering (Control Systems Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering), preferably with GATE Qualified. Experience: 2 years of work experience in relevant areas of research is preferred, Fresh graduates with relevant knowledge can also apply Duration: The position is for a maximum of 2 years. Pay / Salary : Senior Research Fellow: Rs. 42,000/- per month for GATE Qualified as per norms Junior Research Fellow: Rs. 37,000/- per month for GATE Qualified as per norms. Skills Required: Knowledge in new product development and manufacturing process. Software tool experience in CFD / FEA / MBD / MATLAB / PLC Good communication and documentation skills Senior Research Fellow - Job Role 1: Job Role : To actively participate in the process of development of variable Mach number nozzle system of Trisonic wind tunnel for the DRDL specifications. Major Responsibility: Responsible for the preparation, procurement, and assembly of experimental setup for testing of Variable Mach number nozzle prototype models. Geometry preparation, meshing and setting up of FEA simulation. Post processing of FEA results. Comparison of FEA simulation results and experimental results. Theoretical calculation for actuator selection. Manufacturing drawings and fabrication of prototypes. Maintenance of Laboratory and lab files. Communicating the papers and patent preparation. Execution and coordination of activities related to data collection in the field, data compilation and report preparation. Adherence to the project schedule Jr. Research Fellow - Job Role 2: To actively participate in the process of development of variable Mach number nozzle system of Trisonic wind tunnel for the DRDL specifications. Major Responsibility: Responsible for the preparation, procurement, and assembly of experimental setup for testing of Variable Mach number nozzle prototype models. MATLAB coding to generate various Mach Profiles. Geometry preparation, meshing and setting up of CFD simulation. Post processing of CFD results. Comparison of CFD simulation results and experimental results. Maintenance of Laboratory and lab files. Communicating the papers and patent preparation. Execution and coordination of activities related to data collection in the field, data compilation and report preparation. Adherence to the project schedule Jr. Research Fellow - Job Role 3: To actively participate in the process of development of variable Mach number nozzle system of Trisonic wind tunnel for the DRDL specifications. Major Responsibility: Responsible for the preparation, procurement, and assembly of experimental setup for testing of Variable Mach number nozzle prototype models. Coding to control actuators to attain various positions of variable nozzle. Maintenance of Laboratory and lab files. Communicating the papers and patent preparation. Execution and coordination of activities related to data collection in the field, data compilation and report preparation. Adherence to the project schedule.
