Job Description – Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical) – Product Development/Improvement & New Product Implementation The Senior Design Engineer – Product Development/Improvement & New Product Introduction will be responsible for improvement of current products of the organization based on market, customer and sales team feedback. They will also be responsible for translating product customizations into engineering drawings. They will also be responsible for drawing control. They will drive initiatives for new product development including design and prototyping and will coordinate with cross-functional team to execute the NPI process. Responsibilities: 1. Conceptualization and Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and design new products or improve existing ones based on market needs, customer feedback, and technological advancements. 2. Prototype Development: Develop prototypes or proof-of-concept models using engineering principles, CAD software, and rapid prototyping techniques to validate designs and functionalities. 3. Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing and validation procedures to ensure product performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. 4. Cost Analysis and Optimization: Evaluate manufacturing processes and materials to optimize product cost without compromising quality or performance. 5. Project Management: Manage projects from ideation to commercialization, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and milestone tracking. 6. Collaboration: Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturing partners to source components, resolve technical issues, and ensure smooth transition from prototype to mass production. 7. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for product enhancement, cost reduction, and process optimization through continuous improvement initiatives. 8. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation such as design specifications, engineering drawings, test reports, and manufacturing instructions. Qualifications: 1. Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering. 2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development and engineering design in Industrial Air Pollution control equipment is required. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, ducting systems and blowers (centrifugal and others) is mandatory. Experience with CAD software, rapid prototyping, and project management tools is highly beneficial. 3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering principles, design software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD and in prototyping techniques. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control standards is essential. 4. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of issues and implement effective solutions. 5. Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, present technical information effectively, and negotiate with stakeholders. 6. Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 7. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in design, testing, and documentation processes. 8. Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, market dynamics, and technological advancements. 9.
