- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organisation to understand and analyse their reporting requirements.
- Conduct meetings and workshops to gather detailed insights into business processes, goals, and challenges.
- Translate business needs into actionable reporting requirements.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment of reporting solutions with overall business strategies and objectives.
- Develop a deep understanding of the organisation's data landscape, including sources, structures, and relationships.
- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure accurate and reliable data for reporting.
- Utilise Microsoft Power BI and other reporting tools to design visually appealing and insightful reports.
- Create dashboards that provide actionable insights, key performance indicators (KPIs), and trend analyses.
- Possess advanced technical skills in Microsoft Power BI for report creation, data modeling, and visualisation.
- Create/modify SQL scripts for data manipulation for ETL process.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to business reporting and data visualisation.
- Document reporting requirements, data definitions, and report design specifications.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for all reporting processes and solutions.
- Conduct thorough testing of reports to ensure accuracy, reliability, and adherence to business requirements.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments.
- Provide training and support to end-users on utilizing reports and dashboards effectively.
- Act as a point of contact for any reporting-related queries or issue
- Minimum 2 to 3 years experience of reporting requirements gathering and collaborating with end users
- Advanced proficiency in creating and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in Power BI report development and data visualisation.
- Strong understanding of Power BI functionalities, including data modeling, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), and Power Query.
- Experience in developing interactive and user-friendly visualizations to convey complex data insights.
- Proficient in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis. Minimum 3 to 5 years hand on experience with T-SQL development (writing SQL store procedure for data manipulation and transformation)
- Ability to write complex queries to retrieve and transform data from various databases.
- Understanding of database structures and relationships.
- Expertise in designing and implementing data models that support reporting requirements (eg: Kimball modelling).
- Knowledge of best practices in data modeling to ensure efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
- Familiarity with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Ability to work with data engineers to optimize and streamline ETL pipelines for reporting purposes.
- Understanding of best practices in data visualization to create reports that are clear, intuitive, and actionable.
- Knowledge of colour theory, layout, and design principles to enhance the user experience.
- Ability to adapt and learn new reporting tools as needed.
- Knowledge of various database systems (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server) and their respective nuances.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and architectures.
- Basic programming skills, particularly in languages like Python or R, to enhance data analysis capabilities is desirable but not essential.
- Automation skills to streamline repetitive reporting tasks.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage and track changes in Reporting solutions.
- Knowledge of data security and privacy principles, ensuring that reporting solutions comply with data protection regulations and internal security policies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure for data storage and processing.
- Ability to leverage cloud services for scalable and efficient reporting solutions.
- Proficiency in collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, or similar platforms to facilitate communication and document sharing within the team.
- Fundamental understanding of Azure Data Factory and the development of pipelines to streamline data transfer and consolidation.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or similar role.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
