- Core book-keeping responsibilities for our group accounts
- Analyse and prepare monthly journals and postings
- International GST/VAT reviews and submissions
- Business compliance for our international regions
- Balance Sheet management for all international subsidiaries for relevant categories.
- Assist in the completion of regulatory compliance activities as directed by the Assistant Controller
- Partnering with our external local accountants to ensure accurate month end reporting
- Assist in creation of processes and controls for our global financial reporting & compliance requirements
- Processing of inter-company posting, invoices and journals
- Process and monitor payments and expenditures effectively and efficiently to ensure that vendors and suppliers are paid within established time limits
- Reconcile and record Company credit cards
- Receive and verify invoices and purchase requisition for goods and services
- Assist with month-end close, quarterly reviews, and year-end audits as needed
- Ensure compliance with Company purchasing policy & PO process, including conducting 3-way match process as needed
- Reconciliation of all assigned accounts on monthly basis to ensure timely month end close
- Assist in the external audit process, specific focus on collecting key financial and accounting data
- Ensure SOX compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Post cash transactions daily and perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data
- Ensure proper GL Accounting; included but not limited to cash, fixed assets, prepayments, accruals, as part of month end close process
- Provide narrative on balance sheet movements and be able to explain to peers what makes up balances and why they have moved
- Perform period-end accruals, accounting schedules, and month end journal entries to ensure the necessary support and documentation has been attached
- Participate in financial statement audit; responding to PBC lists, providing selections for testing, and answering auditors' inquiries
- Assist with annual international tax return preparation
- Take on ad hoc/special projects as needed
- BA/BS Degree with focus in Finance or Accounting
- Professional accounting accreditation highly desirable
- Minimum of 5+ years of high-volume journal entry experience in a corporate environment, inventory purchases highly desired
- Strong attention to detail, and ability to multitask
- Strong analytical, verbal, written communication, and problem solving skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
